Our Polling Place
It was the bug's first national election. We all walked across the railroad tracks to the volunteer fire department building at 7 a.m., where there was already one woman waiting to vote.
Cute. Ours is at the middle school across the street from home. The seniors who staff it love it when we bring our kid--I'm sure you had the same experience!
I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, with my husband and our daughter, and our dog, Cooper. I've published four cookbooks, "Secrets of Slow Cooking," "Hot Drinks for Cold Nights," "Canning for a New Generation," and "Whole Grains for a New Generation." My next book, a vegetarian vegetable book, is due out in spring 2014.
